Safe-Ex is a market leader in the design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, inspection, sale and hire of bespoke hazardous area electrical equipment – protecting people working in hazardous environments.

Dynamic Air Shelters provide protective structures for workers and equipment in harsh environments. Dynamic designs, engineers and manufactures uniquely configured protective shelters that are blast and cyclone resistant.

The private equity funds which own Starn Group are Energy Growth Momentum and Simmons Private Equity, both of which are focused on investments in the energy industry.

Their focus is on the equipment and services segment in the energy sector. Within this segment, Energy Growth Momentum are looking for scalable businesses in the high growth phase that have meaningful organic and inorganic growth potential.  Energy Growth Momentum take pride in supporting management teams with long-term vision backed by an entrepreneurial spirit, strong convictions and ambitious growth plans. They are also flexible with our investment structures, taking into account the needs of the current owners and management teams – a true partnership.

Excessive debt may stifle fast-growing businesses. Energy Growth Momentum typically take a conservative approach towards capital structure for the business and focus more on expansion and operational improvements.

The management teams of Energy Growth Momentum investments are highly capable and great pride is taken in working alongside them. Energy Growth Momentum are happy to roll up their sleeves and assist the management in using the combined industrial insights, network, transactional and financial expertise of their investment team and senior industry executives.

Simmons Private Equity

Simmons Private Equity has been set up to invest in small to medium size companies who predominantly serve the oil and gas industry. The Simmons Private Equity strategy is to provide capital to support a “buy and build” strategy, creating groups with a differentiated offering to its customers.  Simmons Private Equity will lead investments but will typically seek a co-investment partner and/or significant management participation. It is managed by Parallel General Partner Limited with Simmons & Company International Limited providing portfolio advisory services. The fund size is c £127m.
